Readers : my wife and I are ‘spatting’…..over WATER!Â Â Sheâ€™s “gone whiteâ€ on me…Iâ€™m a ‘savage’ to her (at the moment).Â Buster water pipes….Frozen water source.Â “I WANT MY MORNING SHOWER!!!!!”

That and this:Â “and YOU want to move up to even WORSE (conditions)!”

Yes, I do.Â “WORSE” will look DARN GOOD before to long.Â “Savage” will look DARN GOOD soon, too.

We two are VANGUARDS…running AHEAD of the masses.Â ALWAYS ‘In Front’.

This is just ‘another case’.Â Aho?

Water will be the least of the problems, but one worthy of being told about (family disagreement).

THINGS LIKE THIS WILL BE THINGS YOU WILL BE FACING!

So, 3 against 1 in this house.Â Sky (Grandson) ‘half n half’…so maybe more like 2 1/2 against one.Â ALL over WATER “WANTS”.

Many (reading) have teens…or a mate who DONT WANTÂ AÂ NÂ YÂ HARDSHIPS. Want the ‘sweet SOFT life’.Â THIS WILL CREATE HEAVY STRIFE In Your Marriage / Etc.

WillÂ IÂ Â “fold”?Â Nope, I intend to get as ready as I can.Â ALL here will NEED what Iâ€™m striving for…..A PLACE TO LIVE.Â Thatâ€™s IT!!!Â An ABODE to keep warm in.

Showers be Damned.Â BIRD BATHS and DRINKING WATER,Â THAT WILL BE A BLESSING, in time.

I will continue on the ‘path’ given…and those here will be THANKFUL I DID SO…..LATER!

SOMEONE MUST BE “SMART”.

All That Insulation, Just Falling From the Sky!

Beautiful out.Â Going to “broom off” the domes and shovel snow off porch.Â 14 to maybe 16 inches and still coming down.Â “Brooming” is using a broom to push upward from inside.Â Did this when in my TiPi.Â All snows fall to base and goes up-ward.Â INSULATING the whole.Â FAR WARMER inside, then.Â LOVE IT!

The whites kept their roof nails sticking above the shingles, to CATCH snow.Â Today we put out Big Bucks to insulate the daylights in the attic.Â Just another way to make someone rich.Â Aho?

The common man is so STUPID (in my eyes).

My domes have old blankets over the frame (Sweat Lodge way), with tarp over those.Â Snowfall is “broomed” off from INSIDE (push against the inside).Â It then slides down and slowly collects all around.Â Insulating the ALL.Â Â Â Â I LOVE THE STUFF!Â (Guess you can call this “Snow Berming”)

Folks, why FIGHT winter?Â USE IT and be COMPATABLE with it.Â Aho?

Gonna get our snowshoes out and take Sky for a Walk-About.Â Get him used to these.

If any are interested, Iâ€™ve owned / used a number of styles.Â I WONâ€™T USE BUT THE “OJIBWAY” STYLE now.

FANTASTIC “All Around” design.Â IVENS SNOWSHOE Co. is where I get ours (3 or 4 pairs).

Decided best to make Tire Rubber “Chaps” instead of full Mukluks.Â High enough to strap above the knees.Â LESS SWEAT PROBLEMS.Â Aho?

Plenty of good SNOW ICE CREAM makings, right outside our door.Â (Â :

Also got out my Converted Water Ski.Â LOVE THIS like you wouldnâ€™t believe!Â I took off the skeg and foot “step-in”.Â Screwed in good metal “eyes” at top sides.Â Drilled a hole at tip (pull rope) AND the BACK.

(Going downhill I walk behind it and hold it back / steer)

I load this with my winter camping gear (AND Fire Wood).Â Keeping the load VERY low.Â Try to go 10 inches high.Â Never above 16 inches.Â Use the “eyes” to crisscross rope over the load.

This sled FOLLOWS LIKE A PUPPY!

My NA Ancestors did this.Â Theirs tho were often 20 ft. long.Â Steam Bent the tip.Â Glides behind like a breeze.Â 10 to 15 inch width.Â THIN single board.Â UNDULATE as you go along….”fitting” the contour of the land.Â Aho?

Bought my ski at a ‘cheap shop’.Â $5.00.Â “Eyes” another $4.00.

Used a Like Ski to make a DOG SLED.Â Used an old Lawn Mower Handle.Â Ran Cocker Spaniels with our daughter aboard. Gave it to a ‘cheap shop’ after IÂ got malamutes and a freight sled.Â THEY SOLD IT IN 4 DAYS!Â $25.00 !!!

Iâ€™ve taught a number how to make DOG HARNESSES out of old jeans.Â Each leg does one dog.Â This “doing” from the way the Eskimo in Greenland did, long ago.

Other then having CRAZY coast livers pass by (freeway)…Winter CAN BE FUN!

You may think me crazy, but Iâ€™m kinda excited over the events to date….as WELL as what Iâ€™ve seen in our near future (+ !!!).

To me, an adventure.Â Iâ€™ve spent much of my life Learning.Â THAT included TESTING.

LIVING the TODAYâ€™S Time YEARS ago.Â Learned THEN to be able to “DO” today…AND HELP ADVISE YOU.

Are we (this family) poor?Â Well, if no $$ means ‘poor’….sure are.Â But THIS ‘poor’ no WAY as poor as weâ€™ve LIVED.Â Shoot!Â We are RICH (compared).Â REAL RICH!

Learned THEN, and applying NOW, from that.

LOOK AT ALL THIS AS AN ADVENTURE IN LEARNING….and eventually you TOO can be “comfortable”.

Youâ€™re only beat when you STOP SEEING IT AS THIS.

Downsized – Will You Fall Apart, Too?

Watching a TV show called DOWNSIZED.Â Â Â Folks trying to keep from eviction.Â This a family of 6.Â 4 teens.Â Dad bought a device that cuts off shower water in 5 minutes.Â WOW !Â The FIT the GIRLS are having !Â Used to 20 + min. showers.Â “CANâ€™T WASH / RINSE (hair / etc.) in 5 MINUTES!”

Guess they never heard of Navy Showers.Â Even the gals know how.

This family HAD a 1 Million $ a year salary.Â Now trying to pay RENT.Â MANSION living…on a “DIME!”

On food stampsÂ and ALL using it!Â Â THOUGHT they had $50.00…..ONLY HAD $2.10!Â Had to take all but a Pack of Gravy back to the shelves. TEEN GIRL was “SO EMBARRASSED”!!!

Dad falling apart. CANâ€™T MAKE THE RENT.Â To be evicted.

The MOTHER is the STRONG ONE!Â (I could “work” with HER!)

This is more and more common.Â When the $$ stops, “Life” stops!

The boys “Dumpster Diving” and LAUGHING ABOUT IT!Â “Cool”Â Â DAD HAVING A FIT!Â (“weâ€™ve come to THAT?!!!”).Â Just “DOWN”.Â Aho?

Oldest girl just given a car (grandparents) for her 16th B.Day.Â NO GAS $$…NO INSURANCE $$.

Sheâ€™s just PI–ed OFF gaLORE!

A question:Â how are YOU doing?Â HAVE YOU PREPARED!Â Â ???Â Â HAVE YOU PAID ATTENTION!??

!’m willing to bet…MOST WILL FALL APART (like these on show).

Stay clear of brown or yellow snow tho.Â (Â :

Never use the FIRST snow.Â Too much “stuff” in it.Â “Skim” the top when you collect.Â Aho?

We mix in different jams for different tastes.Â Including CHOCOLATE Mix and even Peanut Butter.

WHAT GOOD is an EMPTY TIN CAN?

I LOVE â€˜EM!Â Especially the older Metal large coffee cans.Â Iâ€™ve made Great HOBO Stoves with â€˜em…..”Bug” Lamps (keep 2 here in the house)….all KINDA things.

The regular smaller cans you get soup / etc. in Iâ€™ve made as Eskimo Lamps…Bait holders….even punched holes on the sides to place a candle under (can upside-down) and made ‘cool nâ€™ pretty’ “lamps” (Nice designs lighting up for “moods”).

Iâ€™ve cut the sides open as a tiny fire wind break and heat reflector.Â GREAT for LITTLE pieces of dead sticks / etc to warm the hands at.

Even stacked for a small upright chimney.Â Mud held together with grass “glue-er” in theÂ mud.Â SOLID!

Seen â€˜em used as HUT Roof SHINGLES.

Made a number of fishing “reels”.

Made a Slingshot “Bow and Arrow” reel.

Used â€˜em in earth (open endÂ at surfaceÂ of dug hole) to catch insects / mice / etc. for bait / FOOD(You get hungry and ANYTHING Looks GOOD)!

Made and SOLD Unique MOUSE TRAPS with â€˜em.Â So “different” I had no trouble selling at $2.00 each.Â Took only a rubber band and can to do.Â What? A Penny?

Made and OFTEN USED as Blackberry “getters”….Serrated open end top…nailed on a stick.Â “Raking In” the berries instead of Hand PickingÂ (lots of thorns on â€˜em).Â Can fill a can in a HURRY!

For fun….AND a FUN XMAS “gift” for your kids, look up TIN CAN USES / Etc. on internet.Â Let THEM “do” (OR YOU)….and see what can be done.

Xmas is nearly here.Â Money is harder and harder to get “good things” with…..WHATâ€™S BETTER THEN KNOWLEDGE?!

Make Copies of How To Do things and include as “Stocking Stuffers ” etc.Â For guys AND gals….Even ADULTS.

Maybe you can invent NEW uses.Â ???
